Many valuable state records are unpublished yet available to the public through the Alaska State Archives. Members of the general public and even librarians are often at a loss to know what sorts of records are held at the State Archives.
Fortunately the Alaska State Archives publishes the Records Schedules that agencies create in collaboration with the Archives. Think of a records schedule as a document that tells you the types of things you might expect to find rather than a catalog or item-level finding aid.
Here are three records schedules posted to the Archives web site during July 2007:
